When Do Parents Have Time For Sex?

Seriously, I don't think I remember the last time my husband and I had sex. I know it was sometime in the last year cause well, it's been a year since our youngest child was conceived, but after that fact, I can't honestly tell you anymore.

I may have to do something to rectify the situation, which probably means it will happen when we are completely exhausted, and so neither of us will enjoy it all that much, but at least no one can say we aren't trying!

Are All Work At Home Mom's Lazy?

Now seriously, please, answer me this. There are certain people I have the misfortune of associating myself with that seem to believe that because my work and home share a driveway that I must be able to "just take a day off" and go do whatever, whenever I (or should I say THEY) deem it necessary.

Yes, I work from the same property my residence is at, which TECHNICALLY makes me a work at home mom. My work is TECHNICALLY outside of the house though, as this was once a garage, so I guess all of our Technicalities are slightly off-kilter and we should probably try to synchronize them.

Let me start the process by explaining to you that I AM A WORK AT HOME MOM, THEREFORE I WORK!!! Emphasis on that nasty 4 letter word right there, but yes, I DO work!

I am available to kiss booboo's, change diapers, make lunch, put toddlers down kicking and screaming for their naps, cuddling babies, playing legos and all the other good stuff that requires doing during the day like laundry and other household necessities, BUT that does NOT mean I am available to get in the car at any hour during the day to drive to the park or the playground or hell, an HOUR away to visit you, my NON-working STAY AT HOME mother of THREE who lives with her brother and spends her days on the computer playing the applications on Myspace, who could just as easily, if not EASIER, pack up her kids and drive to MY house.

I WORK. Plain and simple. The location where this work takes place is completely irrelevant because the fact that Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4:30pm I AM WORKING, so stop asking me to "just take a day off" and go do this or that with you unless YOU want to fork over the money needed to finish paying bills and buying clothes and all that extra stuff, after my husbands weekly paycheck is drained on groceries and OTHER bills.

Thank you for understanding!

Note To Self...

Do not take an alternate route to pick the husband up from work without discussing this idea with him first, because whatever day you decide to take this alternate route will inevitably be the day that you are unknowingly 2 hours late to pick the husband up from work, and will miss the husband walking home from work along your normal route because you have taken this alternate route.

Another note, Do not leave #2 unattended in the house because when you do so he will inevitably unplug the phone so you do not receive various phone calls from the husband to tell you that you are 2 hours late picking him up from work.

I Feel Successful.

It is a good, warm, smile inducing feeling to walk into the room where your infant child is screaming after waking up from a nap in her Pack N' Play, walking over so she can see you, and quite dramatically the screaming instantly stops and is replaced by a half smile, which signals she is still quite displeased by her empty stomach, but knows full well that her Mamacakes will very soon put an end to the suffering.

Yes, I was blessed with large breasts, and they are much more than just playthings for my husband!

Ahhhh, Sleep :)

Two nights in one week my child has let me sleep for SEVEN Straight hours!

Not consecutively of course, but twice in a week, I think we have a new record! The longest length of time before this week, 5 hours, when she was a week old, and was slightly jaundiced (which tends to cause babies to sleep more and eat less).

So yes, Knock on wood, I dare say we may be reaching the beginning stretches of "sleeping through the night"!

Beginning to believe there just MIGHT be a God!

Walking

So I got this treadmill on freecycle a little over a year ago, I used it a few times and it's been sitting in the back corner of my store (the only place I had room for it at the time LOL) collecting dust and being used quite efficiently to hold boxes.

A few days ago the SUPER strong hubby of mine got it into the house for me, we had rearranged our living room weeks ago to prepare it for this move, but life has a tendency to get in the way of plans, so in the store it stayed.

I was meaning to try it out yesterday while super hubby was gone to work (I have a thing about working out in front of other people... he was taking a shower a couple weeks ago and when he got done he walked into the bedroom and walked in on me doing naked crunches... I was so embarrassed!), but I didn't get a chance to use it yesterday, I finally got to use it today and I walked a whole Quarter of a mile. Pretty pathetic, but its been about 2 years since Ive done any real sort of regular walking, so I started working up a sweat at 0.25 miles and figured that was a good time to stop, perfect timing too cause I got a phone call shortly after, haha!

I figure I will walk my fat ass off 1 quarter of a mile at a time if I have to... but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I keep this up, Ill make it past a quarter of a mile in no time and my ass will come off a little faster than I hope :)

Hormone Free Birth Control

There was just an Ad showing on my blog for hormone free birth control, I think it was advertising the sponge... I prefer hormone free birth control myself, though I can't honestly say I have ever tried the sponge, so don't take the ad being on my site as an endorsement for the product, or any other ad that is, unless I let you know specifically that it is something I can endorse!

Personally for hormonal birth control, what I rely on the most at present (while waiting for my husbands vasectomy to be proven effective!) is Natural Family Planning (charting your cycle, tracking cervical mucus, all that), I know it sounds complicated and gross, but its pretty easy and comes naturally once you learn how to do it... We do also use Condoms and Spermicide most of the time, but having the NFP as a backup in case condoms fail or we forget to use the spermicide, etc. was effective in preventing pregnancy for about a year and a half, until we decided to go ahead and TRY to get pregnant, and it's worked for multiple months since we had #4.

As for Spermicide, I like that VCF - Vaginal Contraceptive Film, sometimes I will use Encare, which are these bullet shaped spermicide things that kind of "melt" after they are inserted. I prefer the VCF cause its less "Messy", Encare leaves you feeling kinda gross after...

But yeah, there are my recommendations for hormone free birth control!

Sleep is good :)

I can't remember the last time I got as much sleep as I did last night. The baby slept almost 7 straight hours (probably cause I put a diaper doubler in with her diaper insert - we use cloth diapers - so she wasnt sobbing wet come 2am!) And when kids #2&3 got out of bed they just went downstairs, put Charlotte's Web in the VCR (Yes, we still have one of those), and watched it quietly until I got up at 8:30...

Yes, sadly, 8:30am is "sleeping in" when you work for yourself and have 4 kids and a husband and a house to manage. I remember the days when I would literally stay in bed until noon or later, getting up just long enough to send the kids off to school, then climb back into bed, or onto the couch to doze in and out all day long, getting dressed for the day just in time for the bus to drop the kids off in the afternoon.

It's nice to actually have some Ambition now!

It's Not MINE!

My parents became grandparents again this week... and for the first out of 5 times, it's NOT my child!

Being an Aunt is so cool!

Back Pain

The husband saw his Chiropractor today, and felt it necessary to schedule for me to accompany him in 2 weeks to be checked out as well, he thinks I have bad posture and the Chiropractor can help...

I think I just have big boobs.

Half Naked Joggers....

A conversation between the husband and I today as we passed a woman jogging down the road...

Me: "I really need to lose some weight, I want to look good enough to be able to jog down the road in nothing but shorts and a sports bra."

Him: "Sure. Half naked jogging."

Me: "Not that I would ever DO it, but I want to look good enough that I COULD do it."

Him: "That makes perfect sense."

Temptation

Wearing Hubby's tee shirt again... it says "The only way to get rid of temptation is to give into it!" and secretly hoping the super religious Mormon woman with 10+ kids comes in the store today. I'm so cruel.

Independence is

Working for yourself.

Seriously, why should a person spend the majority of their adult life working their ass off, just to make someone else money? You explain to me the logical reasoning behind that... aside from pure greed on the boss's part?

True Love Is...

Kissing your spouse on the stairs... one partner on her way from the bathroom, the other on his way to the bathroom
